First thing first, if you run the software on Steam, you should be able to access your packages by opening the Season #1 Packs icon, and then all your packages should be unlocked.
To be able to claim your free packages, simply perform an account linking, following this guide. You basically just need to enter your login details in the Steam version and untick Steam Auth before pressing Login:

First thing first, our app is not a game, and it’s free to play, so if your child accidentally added it to your account, don’t worry, there was no payment involved. As I don’t know anything about your Steam account, I can’t verify whether you own any of our titles.
If there was a DLC purchase, then, unfortunately, there isn’t anything we can do, as Steam is in total control over all transactions, and they aren’t exposed to us, developers. Subsequently, we can’t offer a refund for them.
As far as I know, Steam has a no-refund policy on DLC purchases, but you can always raise a support ticket with them and ask. However, they generally don’t buy the “someone else used my credit card” story, so a better explanation of why you don’t like your purchase will be needed, even if it is the truth.

I think this could only happen if the updater actually fails to patch the software. As a result, the software restarts itself but detects that there is a new version waiting to be installed, but can’t execute the update. In most cases, this is some file system or privilege error, but if Admin rights are granted I have not seen a case on Windows 10 where the update fails.
The location could actually matter. If you have any other drives than c:\ I’d even try to do a complete uninstall of the software and install it to another drive. The system and drive could have some locations that can’t normally be written to, but as I said, with Admin rights, you should be able to do so.
Please let me know how a clean install to a different location with the installer downloaded from the site works. Sorry to hear about the issue! When the software prompts you to restart because there is an update ready for you, it means it has downloaded a new version and will not let you use an older executable because there are changes that need to be applied to your installation. So simply let it restart and update your app. 🙂 After the update is done, you will be entered into the Main menu, where you can press the Login button and get returned to the Login screen; here you’ll have ample time to enter your credentials and press the Login button.

You can find all your packages on your Profile page, and also claim your free credit, which is still there. It’s up in the menu, but you can also open it by clicking the “Earn more” button on the Free credits widget inside the app:

Temporarily, Windows Defender flags the patch as malicious. A false positive has been submitted, the app should be whitelisted in a few days.
“Pro Exclusive” categories that allow nudity aren’t randomized, and they are enabled by default, so randoms should not display nudity. If you encounter specific cases where they do, please let me know here with screenshots so I can take a look!

I replied to the e-mail you sent me last week. If you can’t download the packs manually for some reason, you can always switch to your mobile network instead of using your home wifi, since usually the issue only arises with a specific broadband provider.

He’s just referring to the pack preview images as random.
In the Settings screen, your character is not displayed. Try pressing Export and see that the image created as PNG is the same one you had in the Editor. 🙂
When you enter the Settings screen your character is not lost. It just displays the preview image of the selected pack on the right side, since you can toggle multiple packs to be used on the same character – as explained in the Tutorial. So when you press Save (data file that can be loaded back later) or Export (PNG or PSD), your personalized character will be used.

The Bestiary pack expands your choices in the Companion category and is only visible in the Settings screen once purchased. You can open the Editor with any Season #2 pack. When going to Settings, you will see the Bestiary pack there available to be toggled (or start the Editor by using Load All/Load Fantasy, and the Bestiary pack will be toggled by default).
