Application hangs when opening accessory menus – SOLVED

This update made the program hang when entering one of the accessory menus such as hair style. Not sure if others are having issues. Just started.

Thank’s for reporting this and I’m sorry that you are having issues.
Can you give us more details about what’s happenning at your side? Like what package have you opened? Do you experience the same with every packages? Other menus work fine for you?

If the program crashes, it generates a log file at C:/Users/Your_user_name/AppData/Roaming/ePic Character Generator/epic_timestamp.log
Could you please send them to me via email, or post them here?

I also have a hang-up problem since the upgrade. All accessory menus crash does not matter if demo, human male or human female.

Would you mind posting what is in the log file, so I can move forward? As this doesn’t happen on computers I’m testing the program, I need more information to solve this.

If you experience this issue, the fastest way to fix is to redownload and run the installer again. You dont need to uninstall it, so it wont touch your packages data, just updates the program. I will fix it in future patches.

I have this same problem. I tried to re=download the program but every time I try, I get a message that the program might have been moved or deleted. This happens after the download reaches 99%. I have tried in IE and Chrome. I do not think the problem is at your end but it is very frustrating to keep downloading something and told that the program is not there after waiting several minutes for each try. I checked the log files and found this:

Hi revric,

Your problem is different from others if you see the same error log every time. However if the application hangs for you, redownloading should work fine, if you’ve received an update for previous installation lately. The problem with the download could be related to an antivirus program or security setting which blocks downloading an executable. There should be an option to allow running it.

I also have this problem now – before patching everything worked fine.

My log files are all identical:

[2014/4/29 21:21:41] Logging started…
[2014/4/29 21:21:41] Window dimensions are: 1025×820

Running the installer again did not fix it.

Running the original installer again won’t help the problem. Have you tried downloading it from the site and installing the new version?
