Minor thing here, but it’s come up often enough that it annoys me.
The program drops out of fullscreen window when you alt-tab (a bug in itself? -also resets the UI page you were on), but here’s the problem with running it in the smaller window:
When you click on the sliders at the far right (saturation especially) the program ALSO reads it as a click on the ‘tips’ button. Moving the tips button, making it smaller, scaling the UI, or doing something with it so you the colour sliders don’t overlap it would really help.
June 5, 2016 at 6:22 pm #23082In full screen mode it usually works fine with that slider thing. I have the same issue, kalnaren. It’s already sorta fixed since originally the random button was below the sliders (wild guess as to the consequences of that ? 😉 😛 ) and all buttons were much bigger. B)
June 5, 2016 at 6:24 pm #23083Yea same, fullscreen mode is perfectly fine. I just find myself alt-tabbing out enough that I don’t bother maximizing it again, so it gets in the way.
If I was at a higher resolution it probably wouldn’t be too bad, but I’m only running 1080p
June 5, 2016 at 6:30 pm #23085It’s not so much about rez. It’s about screen Height/Length ratio. Used ePic on a lower rez screen and didn’t have the issue, oddly enough. 😉
June 5, 2016 at 7:10 pm #23086Right.. forgot the UI didn’t scale for a minute.
June 6, 2016 at 11:02 pm #23107The color slider has been a big pet peeve of mine too. I wonder if we really need a tips button in the first place.
June 6, 2016 at 11:32 pm #23108I suppose the UI is meant for four buttons anyway, and like I said, it used to be the random button there rather than the tips one  but, indeed, I could live with something like a simple message (“press T for Tips” ? 😉 😛 ), three buttons and be done with it. 🙂
June 7, 2016 at 3:14 am #23110It would make a lot more sense to me just to have the tips display on the home screen, before you select what type of character you want to do.
June 7, 2016 at 6:56 am #23113That may be just me but after like one such uncalled for “tip”, I would just ignore them altogether, therefore, they’d be completely useless. While from time to time, I just hit the tip button and start reading : because that’s something I decide to do at that moment and because then I know I’m available 🙂 .
Using a key rather than a button is fine with me but displaying random tips on the home screen would be like displaying nothing at all. Plus there wouldn’t be a way to change the tip, unless you set a timer. But would you really stare at your home screen, waiting for the next tip to display ?
I know that, for sure, I wouldn’t want tips to scroll on the main screen of ePic. When I’m creating characters, I don’t want a bunch of extra text which keeps bothering me.
So, yeah, summoning help with a keystroke sounds better the more I think about it. 😉
Not that I’ve a say in the matter ofc. 🙂
June 8, 2016 at 4:00 am #23144While I’m on the topic of UI changes… adding an overwrite confirmation on export or save when you’re overwriting an existing file would not go amiss.
June 8, 2016 at 11:36 am #23146The screen resizing is a bug in the framework we’re using apparently, it’s been there for ages, hopefully will get fixed at some point in the future. I’ll take a look why the button receives input while you’re moving the scroller though.

If it helps, it appears to receive input when you release the mouse button.
