Female Rider’s Mount is Immune to the Random Function

Greetings People,

For some reason, the random function doesn’t affect the Female Rider’s Mount.

Everything else gets randomised but the mount itself is left unchanged.

I did a quick check and (as far as I can tell) such a behavior doesn’t appear to be displayed by other characters so this does feel wrong…

We have the ability to set the random chance on each layer separately, and we sometimes chose to set that value to 0% on some. You can find this all along with the other packs as well; there will be layers that will never get selected when pressing the Random button. The Mount is such a category, since it can drastically affect the feel of the character we decided to leave it up to the user to select the one they want to use, and even if the character gets randomized, it’ll always stay the same.

This sounds kind of odd. The random function is just that “random”.

I don’t really notice any difference between dealing with a character who randomly got say elven ears (which I usually can’t stand, hey ;P ) or one who got a flying mount.

Ultimately, respect your decision of course, this is your software. ^_^

The Random function used to be just “random” when the very first version came out, but when some of the functionalities got reworked and we release Season #2 we decided to go a bit more into the “controlled random” direction. If I simply switch back everything to 100% chance you’d have a lot of less usable characters out of the box compared to how it is all set up now. 🙂

I kinda remember the original fully random season 1 version’s characters used to be nice moorcockians’ Lords of Chaos indeed. ^_^
