      Hello,
I downloaded the soft yesterday and tryed it.
      It only worked once.
When I try to re-launch the soft all I have is a black screen and a white cursor.
by the way I am using it on Windows 10.
      Is there a solution ?
      thank you

        Hi sk8recrow,

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues. Are you running the program downloaded from the site, or the Steam version? I only experienced it once when the Steam client seemingly crashed in the background and the program got stuck in the Processes after closing (you can check in the Task Manager after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del).

Alternatively you can take a look at the program’s installation directory and check the logs/ folder to see if there are any .log and .dmp files. You can open the first ones in a text editor to see if there is anything else apart from “Loggin started…”, but I doubt it. If you see a .dmp file there, can you send it to us at [email protected]?

Please let us know how you get on.

        Thank you,
        Andras

          Hello,
First I tryed it on steam but it says that the application cannot be runned because it is already opened.
Then I downloaded it on your site, it worked once, and then the black screen when I tryed to re-launch it…
I am not very used to pc but looked to task manager and I don’t see anything about epic character generator unless I try to launch it.
I don’t see no .log or .dmp files but I am not sure that I am looking at the right place.
Sorry to disturb but I would be really happy to use your soft…

We are here to help. 🙂

It looks like that the issue is somehow the program does get stuck in the applications list (even though it doesn’t show up in the listing). Have you tried restarting your PC to see if the problem remains?

              Oooops hold on !
In the task manager, in the detail section I have two epic character generator.exe still running on.
              I can’t end the task.

I’ll check why you are not able to run two copies of the program at once, as there shouldn’t be any issue around it. If you’re running the Steam version, the first one will block the SteamApi and you will be unable to start a second one, however this shouldn’t be the case with the version downloaded from our site.

Can you inform us how the program behaves after the restart? I would be tempted to know how it gets stuck after quitting in the first place.

                    Same black screen.
Nothing changes after the restart but I Wonder how to quit the steam version ?
and maybe uninstall it from steam…
and try to run only the version from your site.
steam seams to be running as well in the task manager.

My experience is that, if your computer is facing some kind of overload for one reason or another, he may appear to be frozen for a while, and yes, during that time, ePic is just a black screen, but if you wait it gets better.

That’s why windowed mode is useful, but then your drop down menus may end up in front of your buttons 😉 😛

For the records, I’m not running the steam version.

                        Oh !
I was sure that the steam version was not such a good idea…

The initial loading shouldn’t take longer than 3-5 seconds. If the program is still black afterwards, it clearly has some issues starting up. 🙂

The Steam version shouldn’t differ much, although it needs to interact with the SteamAPI, which can add an extra layer on top of the system, which I don’t really have control of.

Hopefully you will be able to reduce the number of running ePics to one soon. Let us know how it goes! 🙂

                            OK
For the moment my black window is frozen

                              Fortunately !

                              A friend found the solution.
There is a conflict between avast and epic at launch.
Avast block the launch of epic so if you desactivate avast for ten minutes it will work again
                              🙂

That’s good to know. We’ve had some issues with Avast when installing, but never faced a case where it has blocked the app in such a way. I will contact them to see if it can be whitelisted.

Thanks for getting back to us, and happy to hear it’s sorted now! 🙂
