Here are the steps to reproduce:
1: Open Epic
2: Click Play
3: Click Play
4: Click Edit
5: Click LoadThat does it every time on my PC.
Any help?

February 9, 2017 at 10:24 am #24209Thanks for reporting this. Could you upload the file you are trying to load, please?
February 10, 2017 at 12:49 am #24216That’s the problem. It crashes before it asks me which file I want to load.
Video attached.

Attachments:February 10, 2017 at 1:42 pm #24217Thanks for the video, it is very interesting, since the program doesn’t crash, just closes, and you can see the file dialog for a while being open before that. I’d assume this is something outside the scope of the program, and could be related to some issues with the OS itself. I’ve run a quick search and found something similar:
http://superuser.com/questions/278503/open-save-as-causing-programs-to-crash-on-windows-7You might want to dig a bit deeper and look around in network settings and custom shell extensions as mentioned in the topic. You could also try and run ePic as Administrator and see if it works. You can try Save/Export to a different directory other than the Desktop (see if it works first?) and check the Load afterwards, as it should open the same directory that has been used earlier from the same application, but again, this is something the OS takes care of, not us. I’d be super keen to know what caused this once you’ve figured it out.
February 11, 2017 at 2:14 am #24218Well, it got fixed, I have NO IDEA how, but it did. I was trying to record what happens if I try to run as administrator, and or save to a different location. it did the same thing, then, my screen recorder crashed, and I had to redo the video several times. After a while, Epic just for some reason decided to play nice, and so did Camtasia, so, no more crashes for now. Putting together a long video of everything I recorded during that time.
Edit, was trying to upload video (under file size limits), but it was taking a while, so I decided to test again, and what do you know, the problem’s back. It only seems to do this on Epic, as, I can open/save just fine in other programs. Hmmm.

February 11, 2017 at 2:45 am #24219Ok, this is just odd. The problem’s INTERMITTENT! I have no clue why it just suddenly stops working, or, suddenly starts working. Very weird.

Edit: Sometimes, just reopening it seems to work, other times, not so much.

This shows that it is indeed a system issue and unrelated to the applications being affected by it. Did you manage to get any closer to a solution? Have you tried tuning your shell scripts or networks settings as suggested in the article above?
