Any chance we can get the bounding/collision box for it significantly reduced? The button triggers in a box about 20-30% larger than the actual size of the button, and it’s FAR too easy to accidentally hit. I’ve wiped out a character twice in the last 15 minutes, and it certainly isn’t the first time :/
(ALL the buttons on the bottom actually have massive bounding boxes around them, but “Random” is the only one that wipes out your work in one click without any confirmation).
Thanks
August 20, 2016 at 1:31 am #23530What resolution are you running on? Do you hit the Random button often while browsing items, or when going into the Settings?
August 20, 2016 at 1:47 am #23531If I may.
I understand Kalnaren’s request. From my perspective, Random is very minor feature I’m using very rarely. However, indeed, the random button does indeed cause a lot of problem.
I wouldn’t complain if there was no random button at all and if the random feature was only accessible through a keyboard shortcut for instance. Fair chance we wouldn’t hit shift+ctrl+R by mistake for instance 😉
August 20, 2016 at 3:30 am #23532I can’t screenshot with my cursor, but it was in the blue box area when the button was active:
1920×1080.
It extends half way to the ‘Tips’ button on the other side.
‘Settings’ is likewise as large.
Are you by chance taking the bounding box off the text? The ‘Tips’ one isn’t near as big, only extends a bit over the physical button.

Challenge accepted :side:
August 20, 2016 at 8:28 pm #23538I don’t intend to issue another patch anytime soon as all the upcoming features are quite big, but will give you guys access to a beta build with some improvements on this.
August 20, 2016 at 8:54 pm #23539Oh sure, no pressure, from where I stand suggestions come free 😉
August 22, 2016 at 9:11 pm #23551You can get a new version from here:
http://www.epicgenerator.net/betas/patch.lbaSimply copy the file to the installation directory, the program should take care of patching itself after launching. There are quite a few changes in the code so let me know if you see anything strange. The insteresting thing for you is that you can now undo the random as well.
Currently we are not looking at making the hitboxes smaller as they are tied to other things, but will do something as part of our later work.
August 22, 2016 at 9:44 pm #23552Undoing the random sounds like a good start. 😛
Let’s see what this patch does. 🙂
August 22, 2016 at 9:57 pm #23553I can’t notice any difference.
How do you undo a random ?
August 22, 2016 at 9:58 pm #23554Click the undo button? 🙂
Did the program ask to be patched?
August 22, 2016 at 10:09 pm #23555Well there’s no undo button. 🙁
I copied the patch in the epic directory then launched the program. Something must have taken place because the patch is no longer there.
However, no, the program didn’t ask to be patched. It just went through a start sequence with a bunch of text scrolling down the screen as usual (don’t know if that text was the usual one though, wasn’t looking).
There was no pop up window, nothing like that.
Side note: the soft is no longer asking for my username/password. It already knows them as it used to. And this has been true for a while, it’s not recent.
August 22, 2016 at 10:12 pm #23556Do you mean that there is no undo button at all, or that it is only visible when selecting items, but not after pressing random? You know that this is the undo right? 🙂
August 22, 2016 at 10:25 pm #23557Lol, Yeah, **now** I do 😛 :cheer:
You definitely need to add that to the manual, with pointers. 😉
It’s nice and it works, but it’s tough to notice. 🙂
August 22, 2016 at 10:58 pm #23558It’s part of the new user tutorial flow since it’s been added, but it’s a bit harder to show it to existing users. We’re planning on making it more explicit though at some point in the future.
You can also reset your character with the round pointing arrow above the undo by the way. In case you need this functionality. 🙂

Screen captures would work fine, I just proved that. 🙂

Thx, but I rarely go for a full reset since I’m usually working out of exports and lbd files. 🙂
