Well, where I stand old doesn’t mean outdated or dead.
Plus since the forum feed is always the most current trend on the website I’d definitely expect to see it close to the top.
Just my perspective but the video box you’re referring to is the oldest part of the front page so this definitely feels extremely odd to me. :
