What is ePic Character Generator?
ePic Character Generator is an excellent tool to anyone who wants to create realistic character avatars in no time. You can simply choose what items to display on your character, save as an image on a preset or transparent background and use it for anything you would like to. You don’t have to worry about lighting or finding the right camera angles, as everything has been prerendered and postworked for you, so creating characters are really just a matter of clicking some buttons!
Who uses ePic Character Generator?
The software is mainly used by role-players to illustrate their player and non-player characters, but don’t have the resources to create or buy many unique characters that fit their needs. The option to save the images as tokens and cards simultaneously even reduces the work needed to use the pictures in a session moments after they’ve been created. The characters can be saved and loaded using our custom file format, which enables an easy way to manage character progression, as changing little details are quick and convenient.
What type of characters can ePic Character Generator create?
The software is designed to satisfy various needs when it comes to realistic character creation.
Over the past years, we divided our packages into seasons. We launched the software with Season #1, and expanded our selection of characters in this domain in the first year. We introduced Human, Elf, Dwarf, Anthro Cat and Ork characters in Season #1, both in Modern and Fantasy settings.
With Season #2, we started to focus more on mixable characters to be able to extend the variance of characters even further. To do this, we sticked to a single base shape for each character type, and added various wardrobe options to each of them. Right now you can easily create Drow, Elf, Fae, Sorcerer, Archer, Warrior, Barbarian, Adventurer, Pirate, Supernatural, Superhero, Sci-fi, Post-apocalyptic and Modern day characters easily with the Season #2 packages. To allow unlimited customization, each of the differently themed packages can be combined on a single character to create unique avatars.
In Season #3, we started to focus on introducing different styles to the software. By using the Portrait packs hand drawn styled characters can be easily created. The Comic Monster pack focuses on capturing the essence of creating beast characters which could be featured in any kind of comics, while the Throne Lady pack takes the art into a much darker and more deep style to make users looking for these kind of pleasures also satisfied.
Can the images created by ePic Character Generator used in other products?
Absolutely, the generated images can be used in commercial products as well. You may find card games, board games and books illustrated with the images created by ePic Character Generator. You can also check out our Showcase section to see a few examples where the images are being used.
What are the best features of ePic Character Generator?
The software comes readily available either on your Windows or Android device, whichever you prefer to use for such adventures. You can start designing your characters on your desktop machine, and later continue editing it on your phone while on the go. To allow this we use the same backend server for all version of the software which means you can access your collection regardless of what platform you are using.
We developed a custom file format which can be used to Save characters and later Load them back to continue editing. We found that our users love this the most, so even for longer role playing sessions this feature can be used to quickly change the gear or the look of the character to illustrate the changes of their avatars.
If you can’t decide where to start editing, use the Random button. By a press of a button a character with random items and properties will be generated for you, and you can then continue editing from there instead of starting from scratch. Don’t like the first option? Just press the Random button again, and unlock the endless stream of random character generation.
Having a wide range of options for the characters is a good start, but being able to further customize them to give them a personal touch and create truly unique avatars are essential. Using the Coloring tool most of the items can be further colored to divert from the default look and get the perfect match to your ideas. You can even enter specific RGB codes to get the perfect shade for your items, or use the recently used options to quickly change multiple layers to the same color.
Made a mistake? Simply press the Undo button to revert the last few steps you took. Don’t like the character at all? Press Reset, and start from scratch again.
Want to combine multiple characters on a single image? There are tons of beautifully rendered backgrounds for you to choose from, but exporting on transparent background is also supported. This way, you can make any changes you want to the characters and create the perfect compositions you are looking for in any image editing software.

Thanks to our wide range of characters already available and our evergrowing library of good quality packs most of the popular tabletop role-playing games can be represented by characters created by ePic Character Generator.
